Antimicrobial Resistance

Home » Translational Challenges » Global Health » Antimicrobial Resistance

Tackling one of the top 10 global health threats.

Antimicrobial resistance could wipe out our ability to treat infections, leaving us exposed from even the most minor injuries or illnesses.

Like most global health challenges, drug-resistant infections are complex; different regions and countries face different obstacles. Low and middle-income countries are disproportionately affected.

What do we want to achieve?

We want to slow the emergence of resistant infections and reduce deaths from AMR by:

  • driving better use of existing treatments
  • developing new targeted therapies, including diagnostics
  • improving the ability to diagnose and treat resistant infections

How you can work with us

We collaborate and invest in efforts to:

Discover new antibacterials

Develop rapid, low-cost, point of care diagnostics

Better define the patient experience and unmet need

Understand the challenges faced by low and middle-income countries and help develop tailored solutions
