Prabhu is a physician-scientist and Clinical Innovation Lead at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he works at the intersection of cloud technology, AI and health data to accelerate translational research. He is closely involved in the AWS partnership with the Fleming Initiative, supporting the use of cloud and AI to tackle antimicrobial resistance globally.
Prior to AWS, he was Director of Clinical Data Imaging at Genomics England, leading the multimodal programme linking whole genomes to digital pathology and radiology, and served as the organisation’s Caldicott Guardian. He was also seconded to NHS England to lead delivery of the regional Secure Data Environment programme. Prabhu trained in medicine at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London and subsequently as a histopathologist with a PhD in pancreatic pathology from the Barts Cancer Institute.
