Dr Alessandra Gaeta is the Head of Rare Disease at LifeArc.
Dr Alessandra brings over 20 years’ experience in research and innovation spanning academia, industry, government, and the charity sector.
Her career has been dedicated to driving collaboration and partnership across the UK and internationally to translate medical research into real-world health impact. She has held senior roles at the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), the Medicines Discovery Catapult, and most recently as Director of Research and Development at Duchenne UK, where she led pioneering national programmes and secured major investments in clinical research, assistive technology, and health data innovation, positioning Duchenne UK as a model of translational impact and patient-centred innovation.
With deep scientific expertise, strategic insight, and a proven track record of bringing together academia, industry, government, and patient organisations to turn promising science into tangible health outcomes, Alessandra is passionate about transforming people’s lives through research and innovation.
