MRC Technology welcomes launch of Knowledge Quarter

News releases

MRC Technology is a member of the new Knowledge Quarter launched at the heart of London today by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt. Hon. George Osborne MP.

The Knowledge Quarter, covering King’s Cross, St Pancras, Euston and Bloomsbury, will create a vibrant knowledge hub by bringing together organisations that are actively involved in the advancement and dissemination of knowledge. It will create opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration and partnerships by linking world centres of research, science, higher education, culture and media.

The area has benefitted from extensive redevelopment over the last 10 years, changing from a transport hub to a knowledge gateway full of scientists, academics, undergraduates, entrepreneurs, designers, TV executives, journalists and other professionals.

The consortium consists of over 30 institutions within a one mile radius of King’s Cross and includes the Wellcome Trust, British Museum, UCL, the Crick, British Library and Google.
