Rebecca Holmes, Scientific Director at LifeArc, will be speaking at the session “Patient Partnerships in Action: Integrating Patient Expertise into Product Innovation and Development.”

This session demonstrates the value of a collaborative partnership with patients for guiding early product innovation; learning from their lived experience, prior to any stage of drug or MedTech development, where commercial sensitivity could have inhibited relationship building.

The speakers share insights into their initiative, the Cystic Fibrosis antimicrobial resistance Syndicate (CF AMR Syndicate) programme, in which they actively involve patients as strategic partners throughout their activities alongside leading scientific experts. They provide an example of their groundbreaking work in developing target product profiles (TPPs) for new antimicrobial therapeutics and diagnostics for CF lung infections, a critical need for those living with CF.
