Paul has over 20 years’ experience advising companies in the healthcare industry at all stages of development from start-up to pre-IPO to mature listed businesses.
He was General Counsel, Head of Strategic Affairs and Company Secretary at BTG plc from 2000 until its takeover in August 2019 by the Boston Group. BTG was a FTSE250 healthcare company providing a range of innovative medical devices and specialty pharmaceuticals. Paul was a member of the executive Leadership Team managing the Legal, Regulatory, Intellectual Property, Healthcare Compliance and Risk Management functions.
He has extensive experience of supporting the establishment of corporate governance & risk management frameworks; corporate finance; mergers & acquisitions (private & public); fundraising and investment (equity, private equity & debt); IP licensing & business development; supporting drug and medical device research, development, manufacturing & commercialisation; complex litigation and dispute resolution.
Paul has a BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology and a PhD in molecular biology and microbial physiology. He qualified as a solicitor with Norton Rose Fulbright, where he worked in the area of corporate finance and corporate development, before moving the Equity Markets Group of the London Stock Exchange and focusing on healthcare company transactions.Back to our trustees
