London, UK, 29 April 2013: MRC Technology, a technology transfer organisation, announced today its support for the ENTENTE Professional Exchange Program by becoming one of the initiative’s first hosting organisations. Considered a leading technology transfer office (TTO), MRC Technology will offer qualifying candidates a unique opportunity to develop technology transfer experience and expertise by working directly alongside MRC Technology business professionals and subject experts.

The primary focus of the exchange program is to strengthen knowledge transfer offices in universities, public research organisations, and hospitals, and to promote trans-national collaboration between industry and academia in the health sector. MRC Technology will provide participating Technology Transfer Officers with a clearer understanding of processes and priorities, and a unique insight into the organisation’s business culture and approach. In looking to build stronger relationships between TTOs and with industry, the initiative will offer candidates access to MRC Technology’s extensive drug development and commercialization expertise with the potential for future collaborations.

“The ENTENTE consortium would like to express its gratitude and thanks to MRC Technology for supporting the TTO development program,” commented Karine Baudin, Coordinator of ENTENTE. “Their willingness to share knowledge, expertise and time is an example of true professionalism and reinforces our joint desire to move healthcare forward. We hope this is the first step in a long term, sustainable initiative.”

Mike Johnson, Director of Corporate Partnerships at MRC Technology added, “We are very pleased to be contributing to this program. MRC Technology has a wealth of in-house expertise and has achieved considerable project success – we look forward to passing on our experience in translational research and technology transfer. The program opens up and adds strength to the TTO network which ultimately will help bring new medicines to patients faster.”

MRC Technology joins Ascenion (Germany), Bergen Teknologioverføring AS (Norway), Inserm Transfert (France) and Interface Entreprises-Université de Liège (Belgium) as the first hosting organizations to receive TTO candidates.
