A bit about the role: 

Within the Translational Science Matrix function, this role will work closely with the MND Translational Challenge (TC) Leadership, to lead the planning, execution and delivery of workstreams focusing primarily on early detection strategies, encompassing sub-themes such as diagnostics and biomarkers. 

To address significant scientific and logistical hurdles, the role will have strong background in strategic thinking, championing and enabling cross-institute networks, collaborations and potentially consortia, to deliver lasting patient impact.  To build and facilitate ‘cohesive ecosystems’, the role requires an experienced neuroscientist capable of drawing together diverse groups, functions, and stakeholders, across industry, academia and charitable sectors, to drive common goals and deliverables.  The role will be underpinned by a strong Neurodegeneration background, ideally MND/ALS, capable of distilling and integrating complex science into an operational model aligned with overarching ambition of the MND TC and LifeArc. 

Within the Translational Science Department, and Translational Matrix Group, the role will join other neuroscientists, alongside similar roles for other TC’s, with an opportunity to influence overall MND TC strategy, execution and long-term vision. 

 
 
About you: 
 

Education & experience: 

Educated to PhD or equivalent 

Extensive scientific or post-doctoral experience 

Track record of publications or patents that demonstrate the creation of novel solutions to complex problems 

Experience managing and resourcing multiple projects 

Experience of matrix management of a portfolio of projects. 

  

Skills & abilities:
