Are you passionate about making life science life changing and delivering impact for patients? We want to hear from you.

About the role:

At LifeArc, we believe that bringing together promising innovations taking place across different areas of research will deliver breakthrough solutions for patients faster. As part of our Translational Challenges, we will work with others to connect and unlock the potential of scientific innovations to solve complex healthcare problems. In Global Health (GH), we are currently investing in three Translational Challenges: Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR), Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and Emerging Viral Threats (EVTs).

Within Global Health, we are making significant progress in building an exciting and ambitious portfolio of collaborations that aims to deliver significant impact for patients.

In AMR, we have established PACE (Pathways to Antimicrobial Clinical Efficacy) in collaboration with Innovate UK and the Medicines Discovery Catapult, a new nationally coordinated program to advance translation in tackling AMR. Our vision is to contribute to renewing the pipeline of innovative antimicrobial solutions and actionable diagnostics to tackle unmet global needs in AMR. We will support academic and SME translation globally, creating a highly collaborative network and further mobilising the international scientific community.

In EVT, we are focusing on developing new therapies against future viral threats.   The initial focus is on flaviviruses, e.g. Dengue, but we are also collaborating widely to identify new opportunities e.g. the Infection Innovation Consortium (iiCON) run by the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

And in NTDs, we have more of a diagnostic focus on diseases such as schistosomiasis and leishmaniasis, where effective diagnosis remains a block to treatment options.

We now wish to strengthen our team with the appointment of a senior, experienced, and internationally recognised Global Health strategic leader to act as the main scientific lead across the GH portfolio to ensure strategy for the three translational challenges in AMR, NTDs and EVTs are successfully delivered. This is an exciting time for an exceptional individual, with a track record of high impact delivery, to join the organisation and contribute to the design and implementation of this large global portfolio.
